After School Program
About the Program
The Brea Community Center offers a comprehensive after school program (ASP) for elementary aged students during the academic school year. Every day includes plenty of energetic fun with opportunities for kids to play sports, do crafts, or compete in video or board games. In addition, the Center Café sells snacks to help fuel a crowd of active kids. Once everyone has taken time out for having some fun, there is also a designated study hall time set aside. Students can tackle their school assignments and get extra homework assistance if they have questions.
The Brea Community Center is an open, durable space that easily accommodates all this ASP variety. It features specialized areas for program options like cooking, art, or music. Plus, with a full-sized gymnasium, there is plenty of room to contain active exercise in a safe environment or gather for a group presentation. The trained staffers do more than just keep a watchful eye, they engage with kids to build positive relationships. The staff even meets kids from nearby Laurel School and walks them over to the center each day. Through the years, this important service has been a tremendous community benefit by giving working parents a sense of comfort knowing that their children enjoy quality care while they remain on the job.
The ASP program offers an outstanding value with an annual fee averaging much less than the cost of two months elsewhere. Several payment options are available to help ease overall back to school expenses.
This hugely popular program always fills to capacity. Act now to apply for a space. Participant registration must be done in person by a parent or guardian at the Community Center front desk. A parent packet is presented to outline more detail.
Annual registration is only $660* if paid in full, upfront. Two auto-debit payment plans are offered with a $20 service fee. Payments can be as low as $80 per month.
(*Non-resident pays $760 for upfront; $780 for payment plan.)
